The Young Terriers The Official Junior Supporters Club of Huddersfield Town, The Young Terriers, was formed in 1983 and is open to all Town fans between the ages of 8 and 13: the aim of the YT's being to encourage youngsters to grow up with an interest in football (not just Huddersfield Town). The cost of membership is just £10.00 per child, which is a once only payment and not an annual fee, and is payable on the second visit. All new members receive a special membership card and a Huddersfield Town autograph book. We meet before every Saturday Home leage game at the Sports Barn, Leeds Road Playing Fields, the home of the Huddersfield Town Academy, at 12 midday onwards where 5 a side football is played and various competitions are organised during the season. At around 2.00pm the YT's are taken by bus to the stadium to watch the match until being picked up by their parents at the Stadium at approximately 4.45pm after the match. Occasional visits to Ten Pin Bowling are organised over the course of the season. The cost of each meeting is £6.00 for season ticket holders and £12.00 for those who do not have a season ticket. During the season we also organise away trips to other Clubs and welcome other Junior Supporters Club's to spend time with us. There is a Young Terriers Christmas party and an end of season party, where trophies are presented including the YT Player of the Year. These are usually attended by management and player staff. Young Terriers who attend regularly also get the opportunity to be a matchday mascot for a Home match. Each mascot receives a mounted photo of the occasion as a memento. WE DO STRESS, HOWEVER, THAT WE CANNOT ACCEPT MEMBERS TO THE YOUNG TERRIERS UNTIL THEY HAVE REACHED THEIR 8TH BIRTHDAY. If you are interested in becoming a Young Terrier please contact Huddersfield Town FC on 0870 4444 677 where further details and contact phone numbers are available.
