Why join the Supporters Association?
A good question we hear quite a lot from Supporters nowadays and one we had difficulty in answering until now.
Having a non-football supporting Chairman for the last 4 years has seen its ups and downs on the football field. It has also signalled a downward spiral in Club/Supporter relationships that saw a significant drop in attendance as soon as the playing side of things went into decline over the last 2 years.
Ken Davy, to his credit, did recognise his failings during this last 12 months and with the appointment of an experienced Business Development Director tried to alter public relations between Supporters and the Club. Ken Davy started talking to a Supporters group because he knew that they had a greater affinity to other Supporters than himself and it did work to some extent as information was regularly relayed to Supporters. It was suggested to Mr. Davy at one of these Supporters meetings that his relationship with The Giants and KSDL would always be detrimental to HTAFC even just by the nature of the Supporters way of thinking when things are going badly on the field. He may have taken this on board.
So what's this got to do with joining a Supporters Association?
Now we have a new man in charge. A man, who talks, lives and breathes Huddersfield Town Football Club like all Town Supporters do. He wants a Supporters group.
He wants a strong Supporters group he can relate to and communicate with. He says the Supporters can make the difference! He is willing to listen and act wherever possible.
But a Supporters Association is only as strong as its numbers and this is why we need you to join.
