SWINDON TOWN TRAVEL COST REDUCED
HTSA announced today that next weekends coach travel has been reduced to £12 per adult. This price reduction has been implimented to make HTSA coaches more appealing to members (Non-Members still only pay £14). It also follows the problems associated with the recent Everton match where coaches either broke down or went on scenic routes.
HTSA want the real 'Town' supporters to travel with HTSA Coaches and so are making an effort to attract more members to travel with them. See the Travel News page for other away travel departures and prices. (See Travel News Page)

HTSA TRAVEL TO LEYTON ORIENT
Below is a statement issued today from HTSA Chairman Andy Moseley
Owing to reasons beyond our control, the HTSA coach to Leyton Orient has been cancelled .
On Wednesday 8th September it became apparent due to the numbers booked with HTSA Travel that there would be costs incurred to HTSA.
Immediately we assessed our options. Steps were made to gain quotes from various companies in respect of a smaller coach (16 seater). HTSA were quoted excessive amounts by more than one company despite the fact that a 49 seater with our regular carrier JAK Travel was much more cost-effective compared to prices quoted. We then made contact with the club with the intention of transferring passengers from the HTSA coach to the Travel club coach. However HTSA were informed that there were not enough spaces to accommodate the 12 HTSA Passengers.
A decision was made from there to cancel HTSA Travel to Leyton Orient. All members were informed by way of email and phone call.
I felt that in order to give our passengers the best possible chance of organising alternative travel we needed to make a decision. Consequently 5 members have booked onto the Travel Club coach and another 4 have now successfully been able to find alternative travel to the game.
I would like to apologise sincerely on behalf of HTSA to those who have been affected by our decision. Sally Peckett, who is new in her role as Travel Coordinator, has been working tirelessly to try to provide a cost-effective, reliable service to you, the supporters.
Going forward, HTSA will learn from mistakes made and I am sure our great supporters will give us the opportunity to put it right.
I feel we have the best Club, Chairman, Management Team and Players in Yorkshire. Together with your help, feedback and support we want to give you the best Supporters Association.
I believe our intentions as a club have been made quite clear and I look forward to seeing you all at future Home & Away games roaring the team over the finishing line this season, Here’s to what could be a very special season for our club.
Keep The Faith
Andy Moseley
HTSA Chairman For continuity Sally Peckett was elected as New Vice Chairperson. Sally will combine this roll with her new roll as Travel co-ordinator taking over from Michael Scott. The item below has been received by HTSA and we reproduce this to encourage donations and support for this very worthy cause.
In Loving Memory of Lcpl Graham Nathan Shaw
31/01/83 – 01/02/10
Grahams’s childhood dream was to serve with the British Army, and after completing 2 years at Army College Harrogate and basic training at Cattrick, Graham served in the Duke of Wellington Regiment that later amalgamated with other regiments from Yorkshire, to form the Yorkshire Regiment. During his time in the Army he participated in tours of Iraq, Bosnia and Kosovo, as well as deployments in various other countries.
On 29th December 2009 he was deployed on his first tour of Afghanistan as a battle casualty replacement. Graham loved his job, breathed Army life, so went to Afghanistan with his usual cheeky smile full of pride.
Unfortunately on February 1st 2010 Graham was caught in an IED explosion, killing him instantly. Throughout this immensely hard time for my family, the Army have been there every step of the way with support. The Benevolent Fund from the Yorkshire Regiment is there not only to support families such as ours, but to also support those soldiers injured in battle and the retired veterans of the Regiment.
On September 5th 2010, myself, Grahams cousins, sister in law and our friends are running the Sheffield 10k to raise money for the Trust, to honour Graham and remember his bravery and dedication to his country. On returning from the run, on the same day we are having a fund raising event at the Scapegoat Hill Liberal Club, this will be a family fun afternoon involving many of Grahams family, friends and those who live locally again to raise money for the Trust. There will be activities for children, food and raffles.
If you could like to sponsor the run or kindly donate prizes, support for the family fun afternoon it would be greatly appreciated. The Huddersfield Examiner will be covering the run and the event
Thanks you for taking the time to read this

HTFC - Club Statement - The Stadium Shares are Returned
The Board of Huddersfield Town and Ken Davy are pleased to announce that Huddersfield Sporting Pride Limited has agreed to transfer a 40% shareholding in Kirklees Stadium Development Limited to the Football Club.
Completion of the transfer is subject to the approval of Kirklees Council, the other shareholder in KSDL, and will require the three partners to agree the reshaping of the arrangements for ensuring the secure future for the stadium. All parties expect this to be completed early in the New Year.
On completion, Dean Hoyle will also acquire all the remaining shares in the Football Club not currently held by him from Ken Davy and Andrew Watson.
The Board and Chairman Dean Hoyle are also pleased to announce that Ken Davy has agreed to accept the Board's offer to become Life President of Huddersfield Town in recognition of his services to the Club. In particular, in taking the Club out of Administration and then over the period since 2003, restoring stability, providing funding and building foundations for the future success of Huddersfield Town during his time as Chairman before presiding over the Club's Centenary season and celebrations.
Football League Survey
The club and HTSA would really appreciate your help in promoting supporters of Our Club to participate in this Football League survey. It only takes 5mins or so to complete.
http://www.sportswise.info/surveys/fla/fla.htm
So far around 400 have taken part – this makes us 17th out of 72 in the Football League.
It is a chance for those who pay their hard earned cash and are all together on the emotional roller-coaster every week to have some voice. From all the meetings and fans forums its clear there are lots of opinions out there! The survey gives feedback to the wider game and importantly specifically about Our Club. It will make a difference and help us make Our Club better.
Please give your honest views on Our Club – good bad or indifferent - the club want to know and need to know.
When the club get the results they will tell everyone what the views are - no nonsense or spin.
Official Notice
Membership Renewals
Members are reminded that the financial year runs from June to May so renewals for 2010/2011 are now due. The full subscription remains at £5, intended to cover the running costs of the Association, and members are encouraged to complete a Standing Order to help reduce those costs. This should be submitted to your bank to pay £5 on June 1st of each year to HTSA, Sort Code 53-61-07, Account Number 61248738.
When the HTSA was formed, an attempt was made to contact all former members of the Supporters Trust to offer a choice of membership transfer. All replies received have been used to set the appropriate renewal date in the Association’s database, i.e., June 2009, June 2010, June 2013 or membership in perpetuity for those Life members who made that choice.
Many Trust members had Standing Orders to pay £10 as the annual membership fee. These should have been returned because the former Trust bank account was closed. Please consider amending your old SO to pay the new subscription of £5 as above.
So What has HTSA done over the last year or so?
- Helped to introduce bottled beer at the stadium, and improve the standard of service
- Got the South Stand for Town fans through working with the club
- Worked with First buses to provide a shuttle service between town and the stadium on match days
- Purchased the Billy Smith memorabilia to keep the collection together - we are currently looking at exhibiting it within the stadium by late summer. Until this can be done, some of it can be seen at the football museum in Preston
- Provide affordable coach travel to all away games
- Created 4 regional groups – these being North West, Southern, Spen Valley and Calderdale. These compliment the existing Heavy Woollen group
- We have made Andy Booth an Honorary life president after he announced his retirement . Celebs Reece Dinsdale & Patrick Stewart are our vice presidents
- Trying to get answers regarding the KSDL stadium shares
- Regular dialogue with the club on all issues that affect Town supporters
- Regular updates via Facebook
Many of these things, and more, will be achieved again over the coming season and we need as many Town fans as possible to join the Huddersfield Town supporters group, to give all of us a greater voice.
Roll on 18th June when next season’s fixtures are out (even though it will be more of a southern league this season)
BOOTHY JOINS THE SUPPORTERS ASSOCIATION!
Posted on: Thu 07 May 2009
Retiring legend Andy Booth has been given the title of Honourary Life President by the Huddersfield Town Supporters Association.

The 35-year old striker has scored 150 goals for his hometown club in just over 450 appearances and will now join the commercialteam behind the scenes as Club Ambassador and was heralded yesterday by Town's supporter group.
Booth is pictured above with HTSA Chairman Marcus Middleton (right) and Secretary Robert Pepper receiving his honour.
Andy told htafc.com that he was delighted at his new title:
"I've always been incredibly grateful to the fans of Huddersfield Town for the way they have backed me in my career and I am really honoured to have been made Honourary Life President of the Supporters Association. It means a lot to me and the certificate will have pride of place in my house!"
Middleton told the Club's official website that awarding Boothy this title was an easy decision:
"We have given Andy the title of Honourary Life President in recognition of his achievements for Town and the service he has given the Club. The title is from the fans - they have really taken him to heart during his playing career and we wanted to represent that."
You can join the Huddersfield Town Supporters Association now for just £5 a year - visit www.htsa.co.uk for more information on the benefits of becoming a member and to apply online!
